Hi all,
Just a dumb question, from scattered information on how to use the IME.
When I type Katakan in using Japanese input, it's not clever enough to automatically work out that two アア in a row, should print a 'ー' for the second one.
I always type a minus sign in to make up for it. Is this dumb? Is that what everyone else does? |

Yes. (As in, yes - everyone types a minus sign)
In manga and other publications, you'll see lots of 'アアアアア's for sound effects, so you have to be specific if you want a 'vowel extending dash'.
