A new beta version of bluestacks android emulator permits installation of google play store apps on windows pcs and macs. I tried the japanese dictionary apps jed, aedict, wwwjdic and jishop. reasonable speed, very stable. bluestacks is pretty amazing!

Nice find Sandra.

However this program does not work with Google Play Store. You have to manually install it.

Go to http://apk-manager.com/2012/03/how-to-install-android-market-on-bluestacks-beta.html
and follow the instructions on how to install other market stores on BlueStacks.

Enjoy

Tom

Nope. The NEW version has Play Store, Amazon Store and two others preinstalled. The old version was a practically useless proof-of-concept alpha. slow as molasses, crashed constantly, sometimes with bluescreen.

on my asus ep121 tablet multitouch and camera work properly. very few crashes, speed is definitely useable. its like the ep121 magi-combined with galaxy note 10.1.

a lot of people commented dismissively "who on earth needs crappy android apps on a real os?". but there are many non-crappy apps without windows/osx equivalents, or at much lower prices.

I was awaiting the launch of the new version of blue stack android emulator. This gives a very good platform for gaming stuff. Bluestacks has greater reliability and working space than the normal ones. Thank you for the app.

Iíve just installed and used Bluestack, the issue Iím having with it, is all the additional services running in the background, itís taking a serious toll on the performance of my system. I tried removing the notification tool and keeping the application, but not much luck there.
