My guess is that the key issue is the fact that you have a Japanese version of the operating system-- the way the screen popup tool works is very sensitive to the operating system environment. Unfortunately, I do not have a Japanese version of Windows to test on, so there's not much I can do to help.
Is there anyone in the forum who has used the screen popup tool successfully under Japanese Windows XP? |

I am also having this problem with my friends computer. We are both using the Japanese XP OS system and mine works perfectly fine and his works great except for the screen pop up tool. When he presses it, his computer then restarts. Mine does not restart.
Do you have a fix for this or an explanation on how to make it work. It also works fine on my US version of XP. |

management,
Could you check whether there is a system update which your friend has installed on his version of XP which you do not have installed on your Japanese version of XP?
No, unfortunately we never got enough information on this problem to understand what was happening, much less to provide a workaround. If my guess that a system update is responsible is correct, the difference between your list of updates and your friend's might be helpful information. If there are differences, and the updates can be rolled back, you might even want to try rolling them back one at a time on your friend's machine and see if you can find one that makes the difference. But it is possible that my guess is wrong and that this would not help. Also, some system updates cannot be uninstalled and reinstalled.
