I have installed the demo version of the latest KingKanji.

I tried installing the old KingKanji before this new one, but the old one's kanji couldn't display properly for me, so I thought the new one might be better.

I succeeded in installing the demo of the latest version. However, it always pops up a message saying "KingKanji has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Could anybody give me any clues as to what I could do to fix the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Hello guest,

Open KingKanji and select the Options button. Click on Preferences and select Change Font. Select a Japanese font like MS Mincho or MS Gothic (or their japanese versions). Select OK.

This should cure your problem. If everything works OK, remove the trial version and install the old version and repeat the process.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

Tom

Tom Hodgers:

I can't even open up KingKanji. It crashes before the program window even appears. The process appears, but the program application is never given the chance to run.

Is the old Kingkanji better than the new one?

Hello again.

First off, uninstall all versions of KingKanji from your system.

Now install the Old version and follow the recomendations of last post.

Everything should work perfectly. I haven't heard of anybody else having problems with the old version.

Now try installing again the new trial version. Do you have the most recent version? Oct25 2005. I myself have had problems with earlier versions of this.

If not, download from http://www.gakusoft.com/download.htm

If you still have problems have a look at http://www.gakusoft.com/kingkanji_faq.htm

and send a message to support@gakusoft.com

Cheers,

Tom
