I have been using PRC Chinese input method editor for past few years on Window OS. I found that it is very convenient to key in hanyu pinyin for each word and it will automatically return you with possible word for that hanyu pinyin.
For example, you type wo yao hui jia in the input editor (MS Word - Win XP), for that word "wo", it will show you all possible words and the word closest to that word will be shown to the very left so that you do not have to find other words that also is spelled "wo". Similiary for the next hanyu pinyin so you can select the right Chinese characters at one time when you type in Hanyu pinyin.
However for the Macintosh which I am now using and in my Macintosh, I use ITABC input method editor. It functions very different from earlier one which I shared with you. It has no NATURAL INPUT STYLE where you have to type out the whole sentence in hanyu pinyin and then press the "ENTER" keyboard to return some possible chinese characters.
For example, when you type "wo yao hui jia" in Macintosh, you cannot see any corresponding Chinese character for "wo" first. U will only see the full string of Chinese characters "我要回家" being returned only when U hit "ENTER" button.
I find that it is quite inconvenient for me cos I have to make sure that I have to find correct chinese characters only after I type out in the full sentence. If I find the wrong Chinese character for "hui", I have to go through trouble to go back to that word and find the correct one.
Is there anyone who can share with me on this issue?
