Hi, I canīt import my own edict file, I am trying to import it by this pattern (KANJI [KANA] /English_1/English_2/.../) but to no avail, only first row is imported but the others arenīt. What am I doing wrong?

highlight,

There is a bug in the import routine which causes it to ignore a couple of dozen lines at the end of the file, so if your EDICT-formatted file is short, that could be the problem. The workaround for this is to put forty or 50 lines starting with a # at the end, which would be treated as comment lines if they are read. It seems unlikely, however, that exactly one line would be imported in this case.

Another possibility is that you have UNIX-style line feeds, instead of the CR (carriage return) LF (line feed) pairs expected in Windows text files.

If it's not either of those problems, please send me a copy of your file and I'll see if I can figure out what the problem is. I don't have the code, so I can't step through it with a debugger, but I can often find difficulties without that. My e-mail address is:

tonygh@verizon.net

If we get your dictionary file working, is it something other users might be interested in? If so, perhaps it could be posted on the download page of the web site-- I have access to that.

Hi, thanks, that was the problem. No new dictionary, I just want to add my notes regarding kanji to wakan this way.
