I tried importing the latest cedict file. The import was successful but the dictionary was imported as Japanese even though I selected Chinese auto detect.
Maybe you can instruct me as to the binary format of the dic file so I can change the designation manually.

| Are you sure you set the checkbox that selects language right? It is quite complicated to change the language afterwards - you would have to unpackage the whole .DIC file, change the settings and then re-package it... |

Yes. I'm sure. I did it twice in order to make sure.
The procedure you talked about - How is it done? Is it not possible just to use a binary editor?

| Well, probably yes, because the contents of the files should be in unpacked state in the package file. I'll check it out. |
