I can tell you from experience that what you propose to do i.e. "translate English Edict to Brazilian Portuguese" is a monumental task.
First you'll have to download the latest version of Edict from the Monash Nihongo ftp Archive at:
Then do the translation of the Japanese (or English) entries to Brazilian Portuguese.
When finished with the translation do as Denkbert summarized in this post:
This will convert your Japanese/Brazilian Edict dictionary to Wakan format.
